After each passage of scripture, I offer a short commentary, some questions, life application, and even challenges so you can incorporate what you are reading into your daily life. God's Word is meant to be examined and applied.A summary of these books of the Bible: In Genesis, we will read about Creation and early mankind. We will then be introduced to Abraham and discover all that God promised to him and his children after him. Those descendants would become 12 tribes of people known collectively as the Israelites (also called the Hebrews, or the Jews). Then in Exodus, we will watch as the Hebrews grow in number, yet become enslaved in Egypt. God will send Moses to rescue them and lead them into the wilderness. Then in Leviticus, God hands down a list of commands to his newly rescued people to teach them how to live and govern as they become their own nation. Numbers records their 40 years of wandering in the wilderness and their various struggles as they learn to trust in God and in Moses’ leadership. Finally, Deuteronomy is the farewell speech that Moses gave to the Israelites before his death. Read more
