Ceramic Tea Pet - Mimic Treats by Black Lotus Tea Company

In 13th-century China, the practice of using ceramic tea pets emerged during tea ceremonies. These pets reside on your tea tray, and you 'feed' them leftover tea or teapot warming water by pouring it over them, symbolically nourishing them. Traditionally, they are sculpted as animals or shaped like Buddhist figures, with tea enthusiasts often keeping them for luck and to adorn their tea trays.
